If Your Vehicle Fails the Vehicle Inspection
We cannot issue you your Vehicle Inspection Certification if your vehicle fails even one of the state standards. You have three choices:
- Fix the identified problems yourself
- Have us fix the identified safety issues
- Take your vehicle somewhere else to have it fixed
But under the law, once the vehicle is repaired, you need to “have the vehicle re-inspected by the same registered inspection mechanic at the same station.” So, the simplest thing may be to have us make any necessary repairs. Now if all your vehicle needs are new windshield wiper blades, you can do that yourself.
And be advised, if you’re driving around town with a car that failed the safety inspection, you are putting yourself and others at risk. And of course, you won’t be able to obtain a Maryland vehicle registration until the car passes inspection. Driving without a registration can land you a hefty fine.
Schedule Your Maryland Inspection
You can schedule your inspection by calling us at (410) 939-8460. In most cases, the inspection will take about an hour and a half, if your vehicle passes. You are welcome to wait while we perform the inspection.
